“I was excited to have a space to play with a number that involves my love of bellydance and dancing with a hoop in one piece – something that feels out of place in a traditional bellydance show! The concept of the title of the song (First Light) is playing with the transition from a night sky full of stars to a sun coming up – coming through my starry skirt costuming and transitioning to the sun-like hoop in the end. :)”

This is her Rakset Assaya (Saaidi Cane/Stick Dance) to a modern piece of music. The assaya is used as a kind of martial art tool, but when incorporated with dance it is joyful and celebratory.
